Biography
~ PYRREFEROUS ~
| FIRE'S BANE "Our song was almost lost to frost, we shall ensure it reignites once more~" ROLE ~ Having her kind almost be extinguished by the warring of two eldritch gods, Pyrreferous has decided against repeating history. She surrounds herself with her banescale kin to sing songs and make peace with the elements all dragons are gifted with. She will fight if she must, but prefers against fighting fellow dragons. DESCRIPTION ~ A solemn type. She’s quite reserved and rarely opens up to others, even her fellow Snowsong singers. Only Pristine, her beloved, is allowed to know the inner workings of her heart. To the rest of the clan she is cordial, a weighted soul. To the Aviary she is an inspiring leader. |
HISTORY ~
Songs of the Forsaken
The second. Pyrreferous was one of the banescale that were revitalized from the sudden magma flow into the hidden nursery. As such she carries the song of her ancestors close. While a last resort for most, Pyrreferous headed straight for the lands of the Icewarden. She was not traveling for war, or for espionage, or anything like that, surely times have changed. Surely this was fine. Her travels led her to a mesmerizing sight, a brilliant ice castle towering over an otherwise barren, frozen landscape. She noticed two figures below and prepared to land. As she neared she felt a wave of unease, the greatly decorated dragon was eying her with unprecedented hatred, while the other dragon she could tell was a gaoler, likely a descendent of the ones who extinguished the banescale. She couldn’t read the ancient Ice dragon’s expression but she didn’t imagine it kind. She met the ground with grace, taking a few steps back as she nervously looked at the pair, waiting for them to make the first move. The decorated dragon spoke with barely hidden venom in her voice, she wanted to know exactly what or who Pyrreferous was and what they were doing here unannounced. The gaoler next to her said nothing but was eying her up and down. Nervously she explained herself as best she could. She was the progeny of a long forgotten breed, much like the gaolers, she suspected. An ancient breed of the Flameforger’s making. She came seeking a home, as her ancestors' dying wish was that their kind learn from their mistakes and live on. The gaoler gave her a curious look and said it was fine by her. The other dragon, the Queen, Solstice, balked, for she was the one in charge, no one else. The gaoler, Cryou countered that the Queen had no knowledge of the ancients, and therefore had no reason to suspect them. If she was truly concerned she could hold a council. And so one was held. They grilled Pyrreferous further, having her explain, as best as she could figure from her anscestor’s song, how the banescale and gaolers were at war on behalf of their patrons, on a path of total conquest. In the end the gaoler ‘won’ but discovered a hidden nursery of banescale, and had too much heart to destroy it, instead sealing it off. In recent years a new volcanic vein must have formed, warming and freeing the chamber with magic-infused magma, allowing the banescale to rise once more. Now they were to learn from their ancestors and fly the skies of Sornieth again. The council was mostly impressed and sympathetic, only the Queen remained on edge. However, she had no good reason to turn the ancient away. Instead she was satisfied by having Pyrreferous on watch for her first month at the castle, just to make sure. The watch ended up lasting three months longer, but it was a small price to pay in the end.
Shortly after settling in both Cryuo and Pyrreferous concocted the same idea. Now that the ancients had returned, perhaps it would be wise to set up special organizations of them to help do specialized tasks for the clan. Immediately they began recruiting others of their kind, creating their own elemental coalitions. Cryuo gained wardens for her prison, while Pyrreferous had something else in mind. She wanted to carry on their anscestor’s songs, creating a choir of banescale. They would use their voices to encourage peace and understanding. The wars of the gods would only end in the destruction of dragonkind, instead the Flights should come together as one.

Pristine [Beloved & Second-in-command]:
Her beloved and trusted second-in-command. The Ice and Fire banescale have an inseparable bond, and have been since they met. She shares everything with her, trusting Pristine to listen, console, and to keep secrets. Pyrreferous acts the same for her as well, the two trusting each other with the secrets and woes of their hearts.

Cryuo [Gaoler Leader]:
Weary at first, the history of the two breeds has not been kind, to either of them. However, they were generations away from the original horrors at the behest of petty gods. That and the fact Cryuo vouched for her entry into the clan left a very strong impression. The two get along surprisingly well, and respect each other greatly for their leadership qualities.
