B I O G R A P H Y

Rajko was always like this. He came out of the egg smooth like freshly fired terracotta. His parents thought it was odd, but they loved him anyway and thought nothing of it. As Rajko grew, something bizarre started to happen: his hide started to crack. At first, his parents thought he had roughhoused too hard with the other hatchlings and they forbade him from playing with other hatchlings while he healed, but he never healed. In fact, he got worse, the larger he grew the more his hide cracked and broke. The terracotta on his wings also started to fall apart, at first they were only flaking like a dragon regrowing a scale, but it slowly started to fall off more rapidly. Rajko's parents panicked and called on all the mages and healers to try to help their baby, but no one could figure out what was wrong with this strange hatchling. Rajko was just confused, all he knew was that there were lots of grown-up dragons poking and prodding him and that he was super itchy. It got to the point where he would rub himself on anything to relieve the itch, even on other dragons. On the day Rajko became an adult he became so itchy he wanted to scream, so he started to scratch and scratch at himself until all of the terracotta fell off his wings. Underneath the broken pottery was see-through wings made of strong glass, and through the glass, one could see that the inside of Rajko all plants. There were succulents and grass and flowers and a tiny tree growing out of his shoulder. His parents were speechless, they and the rest of the clan didn't know what to think. Some said he was blessed by the Gladekeeper, others said he was cursed and a monstrosity. Although his parents still cared for him dearly, Rajko no longer felt welcome in his clan, so after saying goodbye to his parents he started to make his journey to find his calling.

Many weeks passed before Rajko came across a clan that accepted him. Before them, he found many clans, but most of them just gawked at him like he was a show. The one good thing he did discover was he had a knack for gardening. He took to it almost immediately, and learned very quickly; he became a master gardener within a matter of days. The clan he found was unusual, their lair and the water above it was covered in rainbows due to so many dragon hides refracting light. They called themselves Clan Rose of Rainbow Waters, and they were the kindest clan he had ever met. No one gawked, and everyone treated him like a normal dragon. Their matriarch Helga was overjoyed to learn that he was a Master Gardener as they had just had a traveler come through and build them a little paradise deep within their cave system but left no knowledge on how to keep the paradise thriving. Once Rajko saw the little slice of heaven he fell in love. He took to caring for it immediately and it thrived under his attention. He never left cavern as the paradise needed constant care. He didn't mind though, his clanmates came and visited often and gave him good company. Rajko was happy that he had finally found his home and his calling.
