If someone were ever to ask the members of the clan who they thought had the most opposite of personalities, it wouldn't be long before Arete and Clematis were mentioned.

That is not to say there aren't any similarities, both dragons are exceedingly elegant in their own ways, but if Clematis is the elegance of the high courts and nobility, then Arete is the elegance of a predator in motion.

Of all the dragons in the clan Arete is perhaps the most certain of the world and of her place in it. Fierce and graceful all at once, she rarely intercedes in clan matters and prefers the company of her own thoughts and musings to that of the dragons around her.

Despite this, she enjoys a heated debate and can often be seen challenging others long held ways of thinking, be they those of hatchlings, clan mates, or of outsiders, her brevity and quik wit earning her respect even among the more loquacious of those that she meets.
