Akane

Akane Akatsuki: Akane (means a deep red dye that comes from the rubia plant. Or just a very deep red). Akatsuki (name that means dawn. Also contains kanji for red).

Hero name: Apollo. The Daybreak Hero. (A name given to her by a childhood friend, inspired by spaceflight and took a male name to show that she’s a strong independent woman. Also, how important she is because Apollo is an important deity and an important space series in human history (see: Apollo 11))

Quirk: Solar Flare (Type: Accumulation/Emitter). Apollo’s quirk allows her to absorb solar light and fire it out of her hands and body as beams. She can manipulate these beams into different shapes by changing the shape of her hands. She can also store it for times when the sun isn’t around. However, the more of her light reserve she uses, the fainter she feels. And if the darkness is too intense, it can absorb her attacks.

Moves:
- Corona blast: A basic attack, Apollo is able to launch small beams of light out of the tips of her fingers and the palms of her hands. This attack is fast and doesn’t take too much energy, yet can’t go as far as other attacks.
- Solar disc: By holding a beam of light in her palm, Apollo is able to throw a disc shape beam of light like a discus or frisbee at an enemy. This attack has much greater distance yet only two can be thrown at once.
- Photosphere: By using both of her hands, Apollo is able to shape her light into a ball and hurl it towards enemies. While not as fast, this attack deals a lot of damage and can be thrown considerable distance. However, it does use more of Apollo’s reserve light and energy, making her feel light-headed.
- Sun’s core (Ultimate move): By concentrating and absorbing all surrounding light, Apollo can let loose a massive blast of light from her entire body. It deals massive damage and leaves the user in a slight shade briefly. However, it can deal massive collateral damage and uses up a lot of energy. According to Apollo she can only use it once every so often as it saps her energy completely, nearly knocking her unconscious and leaving her feeling disorientated and lethargic. It leaves her vision blurred and black around the edges and she is unable to move very quickly due to feeling physically tired.

- Birthdate: (end of) August is when the Pythian games were said to be held. They were held in honor of Apollo.
- Further, her star sign: Virgo (Virgo’s origins are either linked to Demeter or Parthenos. Demeter is one of the 12 Olympians alongside Apollo and Parthenos just means virgin in Greek, and Artemis (Apollo’s twin sister) is considered one. Other Virgins have some association with Apollo)


History:
-Went to UA High a year below Endeavour and All Might, She was considered the top of her class, making her stand out as a student. Her parents were well off so she was known among the richer students of the school, inlcuding Endeavour's. Because of this she crossed paths often with the young Enji Todoroki and they developed somewhat of a friendship. She found him annoying, but ambitious. She was intruiged by the young blonde man that hung out often with Enji as well, Toshinori was his name.

-She remembers dancing lessons with Enji- she found him annoying but kinda cute. Toshinori was a lot quieter but also sweet.

-She was bullied a lot by the girls in her year; called her a sl*t for hanging out with two older boys. Enji would yell at them and then give Akane a big (loud) pep talk after (how dare you let them treat you like this you are better than that) and Toshi would give her hugs. Eventually she took Enji’s advice and stood up for herself. She was suspended for three days (year after they left)

-She remembers one time at Enji’s place during dance practice she had to be sent home early because she accidentally destroyed a part of the house w her quirk. Next day at school Enji was v mad at her. They got into a huge yelling fight, Toshi had to stand between them, facing Enji and holding Akane in an arm. Toshi was also the one that mitigated the make-up.

-However when the end of year dance came up, the last time she was ever going to see her two friends, Enji abandoned her. It broke her heart and she was left with Toshinori who picked up her broken self and cheered her up.

-After High School she moved with her family far out of the region into the Hokkaido region in the north. There she founded a Hero Agency and rose up in the ranks of pro heroes.

-She came back to Tokyo some two decades later out of curiosity. She had heard of All Might’s retirement and the promoting of her old high school pal to number one.

-She had also come back looking for a site to open up her next agency. While her first back in Hokkaido is running well thanks to her side-kicks, but theyre pushing her back into Tokyo to make a name for herself. Also, her father just died (couple of months back Many years after her mother died) so she has no real commitment to stay in Hokkaido. But, her cat named Mochi came with her.
