Biography

0P6fbkO.gif

Delvina's lineage traces back to several lines within the clan she calls home. There is magic and wildness on both of her parents' sides, and it has passed down to her in personality and chaotic magic.

From the time of her birth, those around her were both intrigued and fearful of her potential. She always seemed a bit feral, though the truth was just that she liked to do things her own way and that wasn't always the civilized way. This attitude combined with her strange abilities caused most to avoid her completely, despite her desire for honest companionship.

Dead familiars reanimating. Carefully tended gardens growing wild. Streams drying or surging. Trees reaching out to dragons and trapping them. Delvina's abilities are varied and often fluctuate with her emotions, causing further ostracizing from the clan. She tried more than once to control these abilities, but seemed to only further grow their power and unpredictability, rather than seize control of them. Mages within the clan tried to help her, but they could do little more than suppress her powers and emotions. Her mother left entirely, seeking assistance from outside.

She moved to the forest where her abilities could be as wild as her. She found a strange transformation there; since she was no longer forced to conform to dragon society, she was able to finally relax. Her emotions calmed. Her abilities evened out and became much more controllable. She could run through the trees and race them as they waved at her; she could leap into their branches and embrace their reaching boughs as mere pats of affection. Dead patches of land would grow lush where she slept, and she would be able to heal sick animals and trees alike with her wild magic.

Still, she longed for true companionship, and not mere forest friends or faux familiars fashioned from moss and stones. It came to her one day in a strange way; a dragon new to the clan led others through her woods, showing them edible wild plants, how to make rope and baskets from grasses and trees, how to purify water and even some woodland first aid... she was intrigued. She watched from above, hidden by the tree foliage, as the charismatic and enthusiastic Skydancer taught others how to survive and thrive in the wild outdoors. She gently nudged nature to give him some extra challenges, and he took them all in stride--and with eagerness!--and found herself drawn to him.

He eventually returned to the forest alone, learning more of the land and searching for the magical shifts with high curiosity. She approached him and they shared a few words, hers at first apprehensive and his quite intrigued. He wanted to learn more of her powers and lifestyle, and she was glad to share. After a few weeks of this, he admitted wanting to learn more about her personality and history as well, as he was growing as close to her as she to him.

The trees pushed them together, and Delvina blushed for perhaps the first time in her life. She gladly shared with him everything that he asked, and when he nuzzled her encouragingly, her heart soared and the magic raced through the forest, spreading moss around them and swirling leaves overhead. Her wildness hadn't been tamed, as she'd found someone who appreciated every aspect of her. Her wildness had been celebrated, and embraced. And she was happy to share it with him.
