 Enakai isn't as fond of taking risks as his mate, but that's a low, low bar. You'll still find him up there in Sornieth's wildest storms, riding the winds and dodging lightning bolts.

And sometimes not dodging them -- Enakai specializes in getting hit by lightning for science, building rigs that allow him to absorb and analyze the bolts' energy without harm ... usually. If he's lucky.

Dangerous though his work may be, it's furthering science, and that's all that really matters. Well, that, and it's fun.

Growing up in Lightning territory, Enakai found himself bored to death by the strict routines and tedious work of his own clan, though he did love the technology that they handled. In his little spare time, he put together some rigs of his own, but realized the only way to test them -- to get enough power without his clan's permission -- would be a lightning strike. The prospect terrified him, but he couldn't just abandon his project, so into the storm he went ... and, in a way, he never came back down. He left his clan soon after.

Flying through strong winds didn't initially come naturally to Enakai, though, and he first met Lidiya as his teacher, showing him how to navigate the currents and storms -- and bailing him out when he failed to do so. Only later did they become partners and mates.
