"Can I try it?"

He was found stumbling around one day. They're not really sure where the hatchling came from but they are certain that he seems more curious than afraid of the intimidating army.

The new arrival had been wondering around the camp for the past few days. Members had tried to scare it off to no avail. He was wandering around the charred remains of fallen trees when he spotted a black dragon hunched over a ways away. Hesitant, the hatchling maneuvered the charcoal remnants towards it, arcing to arrive in front of the dragon. As he got closer the distinct sound of eating filled his ears.

It was clear now that the hungry dragon was a wildclaw that the youngster had yet to run into. Eyes the color of bleached bones looked away from its meal and towards the hatchling. It stopped. Lowering a hunch of flesh from its mouth revealed its heavily scarred face. Peeled back scar tissue showed off the exposed nasal cavity. The wildclaw could speak surprisingly well despite the deformity. The hatching couldn't help but wonder if it was using some sort of magic.

"Are you hungry? Well I wouldn't suggest eating this. See, the others don't seem to like it."

The wildclaw held up the remains of his lunch. Revealing what the hatchling had thought to be a large bird was actually a half-eaten skydancer. First, there was a shock, but not nearly enough. Curiosity flooded his mind.

Why? What did it taste like? What if it was good?
