Agrael

Agrael wasn’t always called by that name. As a hatchling he’d been called Raelag and was in line to become a ruler in his clan. The young hatchling was trained in the ways of magic and became a warlock with great potential to become a powerful user of magic. Raelag hadn’t known it, too innocent about the world at the time, but his path in life wasn’t going to be an easy one as his ranking would typically suggest.
Upon coming of age to take over the clan, Raelag had become a handsome young dragon. His rule over the clan was well liked despite his young age and he dealt with alliances and issues among other clans with skillful tactics. During a time when he was away he left his younger brother Sylsai to rule in his stead. That was a mistake for upon his return, Raelag found his brother’s iron fist style of ruling had involved alliances with the Shade, which was something Raelag refused to ever do. He’d put his faith in the wrong dragon but he would fix his mistake. After all, he’d managed to unite three clans together and was their single ruler now… He could fight his brother if needed.
After refusing to align himself with the Shade and fighting Sylsai the young warlock became a ruler over every dragon of their great part of the realm. But then strange things started to occur to the new leader. Raelag found dragons were forgetting him and the things he did… even he felt he was forgetting who he was to the point it was like he was another dragon entirely. Then one day his past was just gone. He was no longer Raelag. While he still looked like his former self the dragon now called himself Agrael and found himself working for the Shade as a Shade Lord after defeating several Shade touched dragons that had once held the same title. Once he’d proven himself worthy he was sent off to find Isabel and take her to the Shade.
It wasn’t hard to watch her with his powerful magic. Agrael easily got close to her by pretending to be other dragons she trusted. Even after her marriage had been disrupted and she’d been taken back to the safety of her clan he was able to follow. Eventually his Shade-touched dragons captured and brought her to him… his mission would soon be a success. However, something began to feel wrong about what he was doing; Agrael realized he loved Isabel- a traitorous act if the Shade were to find out. When her fiancé came to save her Agrael fought and killed him out of jealousy despite trying to tell himself it was done to fulfill his duties; Isabel, however, escaped his clutches.
Agrael followed and watched her at a distance. He worked to fight off the Shade’s influence over him just for her. When minions of the Shade attacked her once again he revealed himself to her and aided in fighting them off before reluctantly letting her leave once more. Finally, she stayed with him. Agrael had saved her from the Shade itself after she’d been captured and taken to it. At first she didn’t trust him and wouldn’t even consider returning his affections but as the pair travelled to a new clan together she began opening up to him once more.
In their peaceful new home in Earth the couple live together and Isabel eventually accepted and returned his love for her. While Agrael leaves on the occasion for clan missions the two often stay together and help the clan. He is exceptionally good at spells that ward off and detect dark magic after being so familiarized with them in the past.
