Biography
Fortuna
Lord of Knowledge
They/Them/It/Its
"Knowledge has a price."
"One man's life or death were but a small price to pay for the acquirement of the knowledge which I sought..." ~Frankenstein, Mary Shelley
Legends say there is a well. Beneath- or inside- the well dwells a thing, possessing all knowledge. But knowledge is not something that can simply be obtained. No, knowledge is like energy, something that must be given in return for something taken. Eyes, limbs, lives, all can be the required toll. Those curious (or foolish) enough to seek the well must face hard questions, blurry truths, and difficult answers... What can be exchanged for knowledge?
Notes:
-Nobody knows their true form. Perhaps they are changeable, fluid, chaotic. They simply cannot have a 'normal' form. Or perhaps blood loss is not good for note-taking. All that is constant is that they are a 'hydra.'
-They live in the well, beneath the well, or maybe they are the well, it is hard to say.
-There is a chaos to exchange. Small, minute factors can make a big difference as to what is exchanged.
-Fortuna does have some type of morality, but it is completely unknown and difficult to guess.
-It is possible that the person chooses the toll of knowledge, rather than the well.
-Inspired by a surreal dream probably based off Mimir's Well.
-EDIT reference to the Lord of Luck in
Interesting Exchange Facts:
-A soul is worth the price of seven eyeballs, four limbs, five fingers, and three-and-a-half teeth
-Arms and legs are relatively the same price, but other (inhuman) limbs are worth more
-Reverse exchanges can occur. The trickier question is what to return.
-The central head prefers eyes.
