"A war is won with shields and chainmail just as much as it's won with swords and spells. Remember that and you're welcome around my forge."

Commonly found near the lair forge, Wildfire, true to her namesake, is a passionate, excitable, and jovial dragon, whose talents with the art of metal and leather working has earned her the position as the clan's resident armorer. However, she didn't always hold this title.
Like many young dragons sent to Dawn's Dusk, Wildfire arrived at the lair as a hatchling, sent in her youth to learn about the ways of battle and, once of age, fully expected to lead a warrior's life. Initially, her training proved promising, as she always paid close attention to her instructors, watching them intensely as they demonstrated the art of war. However, the day finally came where she had to use what she had learned. The instructors waited with baited breath, and the sense of anticipation was thick in the air. It was then that she proved... to be exact opposite of a warrior. She was clumsy, oblivious, and even despite her size, by some divine interference she always missed her mark. That's when they learned that she hadn't been paying attention to her mentors at all... but she had been paying attention to what they were wearing.

Armor. Whether made of steel or hide, it was what had protected dragonkind's many warriors for centuries, and in the dark of the trainee quarters she had slowly been learning all she could about these protective apparels via tomes, pursuing it with a fiery passion. Once she'd stripped the clan's meager library to the bone on the topic, she turned to real life for inspiration, watching her instructors, taking note of the different styles they wore, how they moved and how the plating moved with them. By the end of her training she had memorized every dent, every hammer mark, every stitch in the leather. Unfortunately, armor-making was not was what she was being trained for.

Despairing over the fact that she had "failed" the clan, Wildfire was nearly on the verge of tears by the end of her examination, feeling that her passion had betrayed her... when the clan's General, Sunseeker, stepped forward. The Guardian had prepared herself for a scolding, but she was instead issued a challenge. "One set of armor by the end of the year," he said. "It doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't even have to be good. It just has to be wearable. You may not have the make of a warrior, but warriors aren't the only dragons we need." Emboldened by his words, she hurried off, immediately taking to the task at hand.

Through some dealings with Lady Despoina, she was arranged to begin apprenticeship at Clan Ironwood, a local clan to the north infamous for it's forgeworks. There she began her education under the forge's master armorer, Selwyn, and though she came to realize that the act of forging was much more difficult than her reading had prepared her for, she was persistent, and under Selwyn's watchful eye she began to grow and nurture her skills. Her days were spent learning, crowding around the forge and anvil as she learned the techniques she would need to become a worthy armor smith. At night, she took her newly acquired skills and applied them to steel, Sunseeker's challenge ever-present in her mind. Though it took much trial and error, slowly the armor began to take shape...

The year passed by quickly, and finally the day came where Wildfire was to present the product of her labors. What Sunseeker expected was something "acceptable," not fanciful by any means but, in the least, functional. Instead, what he received, while certainly not immaculate, was far more impressive than he'd ever anticipated: a full set of golden armor, unlike anything he'd ever seen. Overwhelmed, humbled, and extremely impressed, he thanked Wildfire and, by the grace of the Lady, declared that once she finished her training, he would name her as the clan's new Armorer.

She's since enjoyed the title fondly, easily falling into her role. Although the first few months were difficult, what with her skills being in constant supply, after hiring Embershard she would learn that sharing her interests, as opposed to hiding them as she did when she was a hatchling, could lead to great things... one of them being love. She even found the end of her Search in her work, with every piece she crafts being her charge, her natural protective instincts channeled into repairing and maintaining the armors she so cherishes. Nowadays, Wildfire and her mate enjoy the esteem provided to them by their professions, and the exuberant Guardian remains one of the lairs most popular figures.
