Hornbeam

The Forager

Personality:Hornbeam is a kind and intelligent dragon. They spend most of their time foraging and get almost all of their food this way. While foraging they will chatter away with Angron in their branches, in a language only they can understand. They are not super involved in the community, as they spend most of their time in the woods, and are known to be a bit shy. They do however occasionally go foraging with Hatarei, as he also studies medicinal plants.
Backstory: Sometimes in clans deep within the Gladekeeper's territory, dragons will be born with unique traits. Their bodies become almost part of the wildness surrounding them, and plants grow from them. This can be seen in a variety of ways. In Hornbeams family, which has lived in nature territory for generations, it is common for them to be born with branches instead of wings. This can make life a little more difficult in some ways. As Hornbeam can not fly, and his appearance is not always acceptable to other dragons. But still being born this way has given Hornbeam other advantages. Since he is part tree, he is able to listen to the forest and speak to the trees. This works well for Hornbeam as his favorite thing to do is forage for edible and medicinal plants. Having someone to give you directions and tell you where the plants are, makes things a bit easier. Hornbeam has also gained a lifelong companion through his branches. A Veilspun, later named Angron, took residence in his branches and helps him reach high-up plants. Following his passion for plants Hornbeam has traveled throughout the Wilderness, and not too long ago settled here, as there are numerous useful plants that grow in the area.
