The door softly closed behind Orion. A sigh was heard, then a deep breath.
Inhale. Exhale.
Orion, like his sister, liked the silence. His place was not in a cave, but at home, in his room. What most dragons didn't know, was that Orion had many panic attacks. Flashbacks. PTSD as some would call it. No one knew about his little secret, not even his family. Though they noticed, despite how hard he kept it in. His family made him little things, spent time with him; except for his little sister, Celeste. Orion would always be grateful for her company, even if she did not think so. Orion hated when dragons pitied him for something he couldn't control.
but you could.
Orion usually went to the local therapist because of this. Voices in his head, telling him what to do, telling him how to feel... reminding him of his past. Orion let out a shudder.
His past. Orion didn't want to remember those awful memories. Times where he wasn't free. Horrible, horrifying times. T-times-
you could've stopped them...
Orion began to breathe faster.
you know you could.. they were all weak.
The voice inside his head seemed louder.
you could've done anything. anything at all... easily stop them
Orion disagreed. He thought that, over and over. He didn't know how long it had been. The voice suddenly got quieter.
knock knock.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Orion almost jumped at the sound.
"Orion, sweetie, it's time for dinner!"
He managed out a choked yes. Glancing at the clock on his wall, Orion shook his head. He slowly walked over to the door, but hesitated on the knob.
A stray, dark thought passed over him. He quickly crossed it out. It was nothing. Nothing important.
Everything is fine.
