Azarin Faliel; means "Lightning's Roar" The Deity of Lightning, Azarin resides upon Mount Munshal within the continent of Arcis. He is known for his electrical roars that resound throughout the lands. Overall, Azarin never seems to be seen without the company of Sal'Suin, the Deity that presides over water. Together, they bring the rains that signal a bountiful harvest. Normally, Azarin is seen as a bolt of lightning that leaves the ground charred with each bound he takes. This has spawned a friendly rivalry between both he and Elferno, the Deity the presides over fire. Seeing as the two of them share the same lands of Arcis as their residents more times than not, it had never been uncommon to see the temperamental volcano smoke without lightning intertwining with it. Aside from Vaeleran, Azarin is one of the youngest deities to serve and shape the world of Ryne. His role within the grand scheme of things is not as grand as his brethren, though this is not something he minded too much. The one thing that Azarin did mind a lot was the fact that he and Vaeleran were born around the same time as the First Fallen, Gelraitou. When the Fall of the Deities had sealed the Original Eight, Azarin was the one that had put up the most resistance and was the most difficult for the Sealers to capture. With his speed and cunning, Azarin had made several attempts to free the others, starting with Sal'Suin, then Elferno, and then the rest of the deities. Each of the attempts to free the other deities had ended in failure -- not to mention that even attempting to free Vaeleran would have ended in Azarin shattering the Deity of the Winds since their seal was the most fragile of them. Realising this and refusing to give up, Azarin continued to flee the Sealers to find out more about them, and then telling his own kin and guardians what he learned. From there, each of the Faliel that had been great travellers had gone ahead to warn the other lesser guardians of the deities. Due to Azarin's ability to gather knowledge, and the fact that he had been able to act quickly, the Sealers had been closed off from taking the deities' powers for themselves. However, it was not quick enough to have protected Azarin from being sealed himself. Once the sealers had found him, they had sealed him in his raw energy form within a steel spire before enclosing that within quartz. Azarin's gem had been within the Sealer's possession for years -- decades... even a couple centuries before there were some people that had been drawn to the dragon shards and gems that were the Syncs to the deities. These Syncs -- Shard Bearers -- had souls that were synchronised with the souls of the deities, and were thus chosen for a higher calling. And no, these were not just your typical, rare few people. There were hundreds of these people worldwide that had been chosen. Most of Azarin's Syncs -- Shard Bearers -- were unable to get in touch with him, though within the current state of things, there are few bearers of the Perseverance Shards. |
