Known as the Duke of War, Azigos is a fierce warrior just like his mother. Raised by both a general and a mage, Azigos excelled in both practices. He fell in love with fighting from a younger age, training under Lonicera who considered the young Coatl to be another son. At the age of 7, Azigos participated in his first battle and loved it. He came home covered in blood, and his parents knew he would be a great warrior.

Though jealous of his sisters, Azigos was also fiercely protective of them. Elbereth—who proposed to his sister Lilyanna—found that he was always stepping on eggshells around Azigos. As his sisters eventually found duties and lovers, Azigos found himself with nothing to do. He practically scorned the word spouse, thinking it to be a waste of time until Ambrilia came into his life.

The Representative came for a small visit to discuss trade negotiations with Aislinn, and the Empress made Azigos escort her through the camp. Ever the stoic warrior, Azigos gave her a list of protocols she must follow during her stay. Ambrilia was affronted, as she was a member of the Waves, but Azigos only sneered at her. It didn't take long for Ambrilia to become interested in the Coatl, must to Azigos's embarrassment. He was loyal to the Empire, not to the weird Wildclaw dragoness from the Cascades. He initially treated her with the disdain of an outsider. Ambrilia called him out on this thought, stating he had no right to call him an outsider when his parents were both outsiders. Azigos had been hurt by the remark, and Ambrilia apologized.

After that incident, Azigos grew closer to the Wildclaw than he liked. His mother was happy her son was doing something other than sulking in his den, though his father was much less pleased. Of all the dragons he could court it had to be one of Corrente's daughters? Azigos didn't pay much attention to his father's wishes, nor Corrente's anger. He liked Ambrilia, and he was finally ready to admit it.

About four months Ambrilia's visit, she came to Azigos with a surprise.

She was with egg.

Azigos was startled. His lover was with egg?! He knew he should have been happy that he was going to be a father, but mating with a representative to their glorious Empire was borderline treason, not just in the Empire but in the Cascades as well.

The ultimate betrayal.

After Ambrilia laid her eggs, Azigos was conflicted. What was he supposed to do? He could join the Cascades to stay with Ambrilia, but that would be betraying his Empress and there was no way he could do that.

When the eggs hatched, Azigos knew he couldn't hide his secret from the clans any longer. While clan leaders were disappointed but not angry, Corrente was absolutely furious. How dare this child of outsiders mate with her daughter? She demanded that Azigos be punished, but Aislinn refused on the grounds of love being an unavoidable thing. She did apologize to Ambrilia, who stated that she would return home with the oldest hatchling immediately.

Azigos kept the two younger dragons. Before the eggs had hatched, Azigos and Ambrilia had agreed on a theme name for their kids: flowers. Ambrilia named the eldest Amaryllis, while Azigos named their only boy Hyacinth and their youngest daughter Hibiscus. After the affair, Azigos decided to step down from his position as captain for a while. Aislinn allowed him, and he went back to the Commontry.

There, he met Lakila. The young Fae had a crush on him since their early years of friendship, wanting to get closer to him. She pushed too quickly for a relationship, but Azigos was determined to prove their loyalty. They had a rocky start to their relationship, but now they are on better terms. Azigos has returned to his position of captain as he waits for Lakila to have his eggs.
