An unexpected surprise... The dragons of the clan were hard at work expanding the lair to make room for their new members, digging into the rocky hillside, chipping away at it piece by piece, the rustling of falling rocks had already became a droning background noise that no one paid attention too. On the ground the little gathering if eternally youthful dragons consisting of Kraken, Cupid, Hypnos and Ghost were playing, rushing around looking for fun rocks for their collection, when suddenly they came across a rock shaped in a way they had never seen before, smooth and round but crackled at the same time, and it was warm! The small dragons were excited by their find, and little spiral Kraken zoomed off to get the clan leader Gaia. She could not understand what was so exciting about a rock, but since it was time for her break from working on tbe expansion she followed Kraken back to the group of hatchlings who were hovering around their find. As soon as Gaia saw the so called rock she knew that it was not in fact a rock, it was a dragon egg. An earth egg to be exact. But how did an earth egg end up by their lair in the Lightbringer's realm? It seemed old in a way, dusty with dirt embedded in its cracks, almost fozzilised, perhaps it was a failed egg from an age long ago? And where had it come from?

It hadn't been there earlier in the day when they started digging. Perhaps it had been dug out from the hillside without anyone noticing since they were all so used to falling rocks by now? The expansion has been underway for over a week now after all.
Either way, an ancient egg was too precious to leave with the hatchlings rock collection, it needed to be studied. Gaia gently explained to them why they could not keep it and then gently picked it up. As soon as she touched the egg her antennae started twitching and she gasped in surprise. The hatchling inside the egg was very much still alive, somehow, and it was ready to hatch!
