Children lost and forgotten, mates abandoned and discarded. Vast has a past that could generously be called dubious. With tattered wings, bloody bandages covering green sores, and a cleaver he drags around, he really shouldn't be travelling with the clan. The only reason he still remains is Mireille's promise for him to stay behind the main group. She also claims that his affliction is non-contagious, though close contact with him may be an ill advised plan. Vast doesn't have a say in this matter as the only sound he produces are garbled grunts and labored breathing. Regardless of that claim, Vast is assigned to the end of the caravan where the healers are to be found. Though Moelwen seems to harbor intense dislike for the ridgeback and often disappears when Vast is to be inspected. This leaves Spellwing to monitor the severity of Vast's sores despite the risk of spreading the disease. Vast doesn't seem to have a complaint to the arrangement though his gaze often follows Moelwen when the physician is about, often while holding his cleaver...
