Its a foggy day, where you are walking. Its always foggy here. It never stops. They say its to distract from the stench of decaying bodies. Of blood. And rot. It doesn't work, or at least, if it does, not on you. Suddenly, a cracked voice asks: "are you lost?"
"no," you answer. "I'm always here, wandering the dying domain of the Plaguebringer. I bring music. music to herald the dead."
"oh. why do you herald the dead?" the voice asks. the stranger comes into the dim light. plain, dull, rotting, bloody. like everything else here.
after a moment, you say: "because that's what I do. I'm the boneyard bard. my music isn't unpleasant, but people are afraid of it. it brings death, destruction and the dead. most people steer clear. so why don't you?"
"well, I was curious," the person says.
Curious. Interesting. That someone clearly new to this place is curious. You realize everyone is always rushing to get away from you. a new feeling takes over. not grief, not sickness, you are immune to those. this is... ah. loneliness. for the first time, you are glad to have company.
