Biography
__ | _________ |
L O F N A lavender flower a day... | _________ |
Believed to be one of the many appearances the Goddess Lofn takes on, she is known to arrange unions between dragons that may be frowned upon by some others in Sornieth. Her name comes from Old Norse, meaning "permission", but possibly also "comforter" or "loving". |
While Lofn isn't the Goddess of Love, for many she represents that position better than any other deity ever could. Her gentle dedication is without exceptions as she advocates for all sorts of genuine love or desire in all it's forms, no matter the dragon's identity and tastes. She is easy-going and fun-loving and is seen as the most approachable deity of all, with many dragons swearing they have come across one of her many forms. She likes to present herself in different ways, adjusting her appearance to make her seem more welcoming to whomever may have called upon her. Lofn's stance on forbidden unions has made her quite popular among those who find themselves attracted to same-sex dragons or those who identify differently from the "norm". She protects anyone who requires it when they feel threatened based on who or what they love or desire and will always aid a couple in need as long as it is mutual. |
Beyond all of that, Lofn definitely is no saint as some might think. Her attitude sets her far apart from other deities, as she completely lacks the high levels of dignity and self-importance that most of them possess. Any of the unions she protects she also has dabbled in herself, always ready to experience the very thing she advocates for. After all, she is the Goddess of Permission and she wishes to know all about what she permits exactly. She is a rule breaker and loves to take risks, a gambler for love and joy. When invited to a card game she will be there in spirit, loving it when people add her as a ghost player for whom they draw the cards. To her any offering is welcome as long as it is made with the best intentions. Yet one should avoid crossing her, as she will protect everything she stands for and her Alfar magic is not something to be meddled with. She takes no lives, but her revenge will forever be sweet. |
