Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this starry boy wandered a little too far from his home lair (352522, Faerghus), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Biography:

Delyth was once a well-known alchemist, feared for his creations, many years ago. Spontaneous experiments with whatever ingredients he could find led to his accidental discovery of a substance that could only be described as ambrosia -- an odorless, tasteless liquid, thick like nectar or honey, that brought immeasurable euphoria to any dragon that ingested it. His few test subjects were hopelessly addicted to the stuff, clamoring and fighting amongst each other and against him, desperate for more of it. They were lost to all reason. In the end, they all lost their lives to their fervent rampages.

This event was so traumatic for Delyth that he fell into despair and withdrew from his studies completely, issuing a warning to some other alchemists in his social circle that they should never try to replicate his creation. After this, he invested in some expensive gene- and breed-changing scrolls to hide his identity and left his home lair, becoming a hermit.

It was decades later that he was hunted down by a young, arrogant alchemist named Poison. The Tundra demanded that Delyth teach him how to brew ambrosia, so he may use it to control other dragons and create an empire... but all this got him was the Coatl packing up his few belongings and hitting the road. His hiding spot had been discovered, and he supposed he would have to find another.

Unfortunately for the Coatl, Poison tagged along, whining and hissing like a spoiled hatchling over Delyth refusing to share his knowledge. So far, Delyth has not proven able to shake the mad scientist off his trail, but he won't give in either. He supposes they'll have to be begrudging travel partners for now, until the Tundra finally tires out and leaves him be.

Bio by Volrin.

Travel Log:

Inkfrog: after a month of eventful travel, the duo had stumbled upon poison's home lair. The tundra dragged delyth to meet one of his old science buddies, named hallow. They stayed for a short time before delyth had tried to sneak away, and poison was determined to follow.

Aeranautics: Delyth was chased (by Poison, of course) to a camp in the Foxfire Bramble. The clan who lived there was currently moving to a new location. Delyth wanted to leave in a hurry, but the clash between the Lightweaver's forces and the Flamecaller's forces was so fierce that it rang all across the world. He decided it would be safer to lay low for a bit, even if he had to spend the time with Professor Poison.

While there, Delyth befriended Fendrel, the clan's local alchemist. Fendrel had a pure love of science. He loved to transmute and create just for the joy of it. He observed plants and critters and studied them with fervor. But he was also very easy to talk to. Even still, he seemed to know when Poison was making Delyth uncomfortable and asserted himself to scare Poison away while he and Delyth were talking.

One night after the Nocturne activity had died down across the realm, Delyth successfully escaped out from under Professor Poison's nose... But the Tundra caught up within hours.

GrinningWolf24 (Tipsy Traveler Inn): It seemed that Delyth had managed to finally shake his pursuer... For the time being at least. How long that would last was questionable. At a humble inn situated in a large wind trading city, he found some much-needed rest. Looking at their guest registry, it seemed just about every traveler ended up here at one point or another! While there were plenty of other curious guests, none bothered him too much, and so he was able to enjoy his stay doing what he wanted. His paranoia caught up to him before too long, though, so he set off again to keep ahead of Poison.
