Biography

A stack of brown and green books.
CELESTA
~ journalist ~ she/her~
A stack of brown and green books.

Here in the Worldedge Wetlands, literary types are a bit few and far between. Celesta grew up in a small clan deep between the trees, and whenever she got access to books she would devour them. She's always wanted to be the main character of her own novel- what better way to do that than writing the novel herself?

There was no printing press in Celesta's clan of origin. Now that she's here in a larger city, she's spent a lot of time following around the clan leadership (looking for any hint of corruption, scandal- gosh, even some boring old embezzlement would do). She's developed some decent stealth skills, but she's also well-known (and infamous) for being caught awkwardly lurking around corners as she tries to get the Juicy Gossip. It's a hazard of the job, just a small price to pay for stories.

At least this clan actually has facilities for her printing press. And a bookshop, so Celesta never has to scrape and scrounge for books again. And a local cult, which is basically the most salacious kind of scoop ever.

Celesta really is harmless and friendly, even if she follows dragons around and tries to talk like the main character of a bad detective novel most of the time.

(Ah, what do we have here? How curious. The dame left something behind. I'll think about it over my nightly whiskey(s).)

A-hem. Celesta just knows she's gonna make it big someday. She's already started putting out a paper called the Edge-Harbor Chronicle (mostly filled with petty gossip about the neighbors and Pyre's research papers), with a customer base of bored merchants who come across her newsstand near the docks.

Celesta has a bit of a reputation for nosiness- probably more than just a bit- but she still manages to make friends. Steel lets her come to his workshop and ramble, and a recent excursion to a distant island failed to land any scoops but did land her a long-distance friend in Levin.

She can bide her time. Writing her breakout novel is gonna require some real content, and at this point the content just has to come her way.

Celesta knows she's a main character, and her big moment should come any day now!
