Night of the Nocturne is a strange time of year for the Facility. Every year without fail, Baldwin mysteriously disappears, and in his absence a Nocturne dragon takes up residence. This Nocturne adamantly claims that he is Baldwin and refuses to be addressed as anything else. Pressing for details or justification will typically make him irate and elusive.

As strange as it is, this Nocturne positing himself as Baldwin seems to do a decent enough job of keeping things functioning. All of Baldwin's typical daily procedures are kept up with, the only thing missing is his usual warm-hearted updates to the team - those tend to be replaced with what I can only describe as fundamentally broken sentences. The imposter writes with no punctuation or sentence structure, and frequently misspells words beyond recognition (I'm honestly surprised when he manages to spell a word correctly).

I have attempted to visit Baldwin's chambers during this time of year; the room is inaccessible. Even my master key doesn't work on the lock. Although this oddity does occasionally worry me, things always return to normal the day Night of the Nocturne ends. Baldwin miraculously reappears and his replacement is nowhere to be found.

When I've asked Baldwin about this whole event, he seems puzzled as though not a day had passed since he was last on the floor. I've decided not to push the issue any further.
