Biography
Born to a small cult of warrior dragons who lived in cliffside caves by the sea, Miros was expected to fight from a young age. He and his two hatchmates were trained to exhaustion every day, and threatened with exile or death should they fell. It was a harsh, survival of the fittest childhood. The youngest of the clutch, named Iupter, died before adulthood, worked to exhaustion. Later in life, he would name a son after his lost brother. He and his sister Reefa grew up training side by side—of the two, she was always the stronger. The day they were to be inducted as true members of the cult, they were told to fight to the death to prove themselves. Terrified to die and loathe to kill his only living family, Miros fled the cult he had been born into, even knowing its members would now kill him on sight.Miros is serious and determined, filled with a fire to protect those around him. He is violent and destructive with his enemies, but warm and kind to those he cares for. He is slow to trust, but kind and caring. He loves stories and music, with a penchant for singing old folksongs as he patrols the lair. He is deadly loyal, willing to kill and die for clan and for cause. Although battle-scarred and dangerous, he has a good heart. When Sangui offered him a place in her future clan, he was hesitant to accept. But aching from years of loneliness and desperate to not be alone any longer, he agreed. The two eventually built a slow friendship, and Miros came to admire her for her stern brilliance and sharp confidence. Eventually, he saw her as a leader to follow without question. For the first time since he was a child, he had someone to trust with his life. Although their relationship was not romantic, the two agreed to have a nest of hatchlings to populate the new clan. Shortly after the clutch of eggs was laid, an orphaned skydancer named Zaj stumbled upon their lair. Empathetic to a child who had no family or home, Miros cared for Zaj deeply. Although adopting Zaj was Sangui's decision, he grew close to the child before she did. He loves her deeply and always listens to her tales when she returns from her travels with a story to tell. Eventually the five eggs hatched—Hemora, Eurus, Caelum, Vasti, and Iupter. He and Vasti were very different, and although they did care for one another, struggled to connect. Miros was very close, however, to Hemora—her energetic, bright, and optimistic spirit brightened his life, and both being mirror dragons, he was put in charge of training her in battle and teaching her to fly. |
