Known to have excelled in deductive reasoning from a young age, pursuit of the truth comes naturally to Kiyomi. She takes great pride in her ability to investigate whatever is put in front of her. This proves useful not only when staking out a crime scene, but for stargazing and puzzle-solving as well. Her ambition, bravery and witty charms all brought Kiyomi’s name to recognition in the field. Many greenhorns have come to her seeking an apprenticeship, though only a handful have managed to make the cut. With studious pupils to teach and a doting partner at her side, Kiyomi thought she had everything she could have ever wanted.

A single fire would then change her life forever.

The KR-4 incident: a twisted game set afoot by the Black Sheep. Her lead on their activity took her to a traveling circus troupe, where participants were taken hostage and forced to kill each other upon nightfall. Only six managed to survive the horror, including herself. It was the worst carnage Kiyomi had ever witnessed, bringing her to reevaluate what she wanted to achieve as a detective at all. In wake of all those deaths, can Kiyomi really say that she tried her hardest to save who she could?

Kiyomi’s torment later continued in her ongoing pursuit of the Black Sheep. Again, innocents were sent to their early graves as a result of her negligence. Haunted by the aftermath, Kiyomi struggles even now to recover the passion that she had lost. Some days are better than others, and those who don’t meet her regularly might not even see the difference. That lack of a glimmer in her eyes, the forced tug at the corner of her lips into a smile… Her mate, Bastion, tries his hardest to uplift her during this time of desperation. Considering she was always the more fervent between the two of them, she already knows that his efforts will likely be in vain.
