When Clan Spring Song left their garden in the Gladeveins to settle into the Tangled Woods, they accidentally discovered an underground fairy colony hidden behind blackberry bushes. Their surprise was even bigger when they found out that said colony also had two adult Coatls who'd been raised by the creatures since hatching from stolen eggs. Orchid and Amaryllis were curious to see other dragons and are now living in Spring Song and acting as ambassadors, under the personal protection of Dew and Rosethorn.

Orchid's sunny disposition and sharp intelligence have made him very well-liked by those few that do get to know him - and the fact that he still can't speak a word of any known dragon language hasn't hindered him in making new friends. However, for all that he's eager to discover new things, he's also quick to be startled by them. He can sometimes be seen running frantically around and ducking under one piece of furniture or another over the most mundane of unexpected events, and marveling at tiny, trivial wonders.

This behavior has already endeared him greatly to Dew and Rosethorn both, and the fact that the founding couple now spends their every leisurely hour with the two fairy embassadors has started a rumor that the four are in some sort of romantic entanglement together, and trying to keep it quiet. When pressed for comment, either Dew or Rosethorn will laugh and say that that is completely ridiculous.

After all, why would they want to keep quiet about their splendid new partners?
