Lore
Umbra was the only dragon in the clan that was born on a leap day, deeming her a special case scenario hatchling. Inside her shell, two incredibly bright purple orbs glowed through, sparking an uproar from the others around her. It was incredibly uncommon for dragons to have such spectacularly luminous eyes, and for a hatchling to have such a pair of eyes especially born on a special day trademarked the Skydancer as a rarity. Upon hatching, she was given the name "Umbra" to signify a high status, however, Umbra felt quite the opposite. She had a hard time understanding why others held her at such a high status, and for the life of her, all she wanted was to explore the lands in front of her. She grew up constantly stuffed with knowledge and information on the plethora of different topics of study in Sornieth. However, one thing the young Skydancer had always ached to try was the art of combat.

A wish for freedom drove her to escape from her clan, using the shadows to guide her. After coming across a number of clans in search for a mentor, she finally came across the expedition team led by Affliction. The poor Skydancer was on the brink of starvation after all of her searches came up dry, to which the caring hearts of the expedition team took her into the clan.

Reid was the one who became Umbra's mentor, doing as much as he could to annoy her with his constant nonsensical talk of poetry and philosophy, but also teaching her core principles and the delicacies of the fight. Reid felt as if something special lurked inside of the adventurous Skydancer... more than just what met the eye.

After much consideration, Umbra became the new lieutenant under Affliction after Reid stepped down.

When not out on expeditions alonside Affliction and the ever-grumpy Geralt, Umbra takes up her practice of painting. She has a little easel near the special spot Reid stows himself away at, where she works on her pieces and quietly hums tunes by herself.
