Beneath a bloodied moon
What story, leers the foolish
Has your mother sung to you
To keep you trembling in your den
Until the night is through
Did she tell you of the monsters
Fallen puppets of the Shade
Or perhaps she warned of harpies
Who feast on those who strayed
What crock, the fool does laugh and crow
To believe as hatchlings do
That there is something more to fear
The night of bloodied moon
Sornieth boasts dangers
This much is always true
But, the fool does smirk and sigh
The night brings nothing new
Come, the fool then urges
Come and play beneath the stars
When all are hidden in their caves
We take what should be ours
The hunting fields lay empty
Treasure hoards, unbarred
The night out there is waiting
For those who lead the charge
Are you not brave? Are you not strong?
The fool does softly croon
Don't say you'll waste this precious night
And shun the bloodied moon
A step - the fool then smiles
As you lift a careful paw
A step and then another
As he licks his grinning maw
The cool night air embraces you
The stars glimmer above
Well done, the fool encourages
With a none-too-gentle shove
Come follow and I'll show you
