Perhaps she would feel bad about leaving him with the kids, if she weren’t otherwise indisposed. Jenna Rhodes is dead, the papers churn. A tragic accident. A natural disaster. She’s nothing but an echo, now. A shadow. A facsimile of the once great singer and performer that was Miss Jenna Rhodes. She serves the wrong side, now, to be her. She cannot ignore the twinge of her soul when she sees one of the twins, all grown up and out on a walk on the forest trails with some girl, but she also cannot ignore the hunger. The need to be more than just a shade.
