Mystique

Mystique was hatched on the Shifting Expanse to clan Draconika, happily the daughter of a very large mother and a very small father. With her adulthood, Myst left home, saying good-bye to her parents, her siblings already gone off to many deities as Exalted. But Mystique isn't interested in serving the gods, preferring to pursue the bubbling cauldron and the goos, oozes, slimes, and mucks and sludges of the alchemist. Crossing the border onto the Ashfall Waste, Mystique heard stories of a great alchemist in an ancient and wealthy lair on the Great Furnace and headed to find this female Pearlcatcher to learn from her.

Mystique arrived on the borders of a Fire clan recovering from a great battle with the children of the Gladekeeper and was surprised to learn that the great alchemist she had come to learn from had gone off to serve the Flamecaller. But present and working was the alchemist Whimshadow's greatest student Lasila and Mystique asked to stay and study under the Skydancer mage.

Accepted and allowed to stay, Mystique is throwing herself into the efforts of Lasila at current to finish the alchemical earrings, amulet, and cuff sets in her cauldron. After this effort is through, Mystique plans what projects she will work on herself with the older female's guidance.

And meanwhile, meanwhile, Mystique is so focused on her studies and her cauldron and her tools and goos and sludges, she doesn't notice the interested stares of the clan's greatest warrior Hessonite, and the clan's leader Raln.

It was a day out scavenging for ingredients for alchemical brews that Myst started to notice things were changing. She found herself staring as Hessonite patrolled the gathering members of the clan and overheard him talking to his sister Rhizaria about having messed a bit with Abresa's scrying pools in the clan's hot springs and considering gaining the Scales gene, but it wasn't anywhere in the marketplace or even with Swipp the Swapper. As Myst found herself staring at the powerful fellow Guardian, he looked at her at the same time she was staring at him. Eyes meeting for a moment, Mystique squeaked in a very un-Guardian way and ran with her gathers back to the clan lair.

Now Mystique works over her cauldron, seeking to make the Scales gene to offer Hessonite, and hope the big, blue scarred warrior dragon gets what she's saying.

A birdskull necklace here, some treasure there and judicious "borrowing" of glass beakers Lasila has already made. Myst promises she'll brew some more as she works at making the black slimes she needs to finish the Scales gene. But she's done it. Now in her hopeful heart Mystique approached Hessonite and offered him the scroll, still warm from the boil of an alchemist's cauldron.

Now an official mated pair with Hessonite, Mystique felt the drive to the nesting grounds. A single Guardian egg is the product of their breeding, as Myst and Hess protect their one unborn baby. Tending her nest and singing softly to her incubating egg, Myst is also busy deciding what she can make in the cauldron's bubbling brew for her baby to be.

And she has found it! She will make a puppy for her baby! And a familiar for them too. Her baby, and maybe a msuhroom colony, too!
