Biography

The judges could hear him well before they could see him - Thronk was breathing heavily, his nails and jewelry clinking and clacking. When he'd heard there was a bake off setting up in the Tangled Woods, he managed to talk his way out of alphabetically sorting scrolls and flew on over as fast as his stubby wings would allow.
A great banner had been set up that read 'The Great Tangled Wood Bake Off' with a number of dragons milling around under it. He landed ungracefully and clambered up the rough-hewn stone stairs leading up to the event.

"Hello!" he called out, puffing "I'm Thronk, I'm here for the bake off"
He was directed to a table, upon which sat three covered bowls. The other contestants all lined up behind their tables. They didn't have to wait long before a small purple fae landed in front of them. With an impressive flourish, she zipped along their tables, pulling off the covers over the bowls, revealing the ingredients everyone had to work with -
A bowl each of sugarbees, crystal jellyfish, and cinnamon loaches.

Sugarbee Crystal Jellyfish Cinnamon Loach

Thronk scooped up a handful of sugarbees and jostled them around in his hand while he thought about what he was going to make. Looking around, he could see other dragons already making preparations, pulling out various tools and gadgets and lighting ovens and grills. He picked up a loach and smelled it, the fantastic sweet cinnamon scent giving him inspiration.

He emptied the bowl of bees out onto a cutting board, plucking off their wings and making a small pile of them. He put these aside and grabbed a knife. Cutting the abdomens off the bees, he threw these in a stone mortar and reached for the jellyfish. Laying the gelatinous blobs out, he carefully cut the stingers off and discarded them, and roughly diced the rest into manageable lumps before throwing them into the mortar also. He fished around for a pestle and started grinding the bee bums and jellyfish lumps into a thick pulp. Once it was a smooth mixture, he halved it, pouring half each into 2 bowls before leaving the sticky mortar and pestle in the kitchen sink without rinsing it.
Rummaging around the supplies he found a sack of flour and scooped a bowl of it, taking it back to his table. He threw the flour into one of his bowls of mush and mixed it with his hands until it formed a mess of crumbs. Adding the smallest dash of cold water, he kneaded the crumbs into a sweet dough (and of course nibbled some when he thought no one was looking)
Satisfied with the dough's consistency (and flavour), he lined a round dish with it, and then slid it in his neighbors oven. With the pie base cooking, he dumped the loaches out onto his cutting board and began the tricky task of scaling and filleting the small fish.
With the fillets done, he checked on his pie crust - lightly browned and smelling incredible. Pinching someone elses tea towel, he used it to pull his pie crust out and took it back to his table. He sliced a crosshatch across the top of the fillets, and gently lay them in the crust. Going back into the kitchen, he looked around for eggs and found a crate stacked with red-footed akirbeak eggs. He swiped one and cracked it into his other bowl of mush, and beat the mixture until it was creamy and aerated. He poured the mixture over the fish into the pie crust, filling it almost to the crusts edge. Grabbing another (clean) mortar and pestle, he put the remainder of the bee bodies into it, and ground them into a sugary powder, which he sprinkled over his pie.
Thronk grinned, it looked really good, if a little bit rough. All that was left was to bake it, and so he popped it back into the oven. Looking around the room he saw all sorts of dishes being made, and decided to wander around and investigate. After 30 minutes or so of annoying the other contestants he checked on his pie. It was done! Burning himself in his enthusiasm, he grabbed it out of the oven and dropped it crudely onto his table (leaving a permanent circular burn spot on the wood)
All that was left was to serve it, and so he grabbed a plate each for the judges, and one for himself, and cut a slice of the pie for each plate, garnishing each serve with a couple of sugarbee wings pushed in on an angle on the top. He was quite proud of his entry, hopefully the judges would be as impressed!

"I present to you..." Thronk started, quickly trying to come up with a name for his dish on the spot.

"...Cinnamon sea pie!"
