Chalice survived the first onslaught of the Broken Gods arrival. For it, he was beckoned from his hiding. He came forth and upon him they bestowed a gift and gave him a command. He was told to spread their word, to do what other dragons did for the gods who came before them.

"You wish for me to start a church... a new religion if you will?" Chalice had asked. No, the had wanted something darker, and not a new religion, the true religion.

"Ah. I see. You wish for me to make a cult. Very well. And what shall we call ourselves?" The Broken Gods had no answer. They told him that those on Sornieth only lived because they allowed it. That they needed the Gods.

"So we are essentiall children. Children of the Broken Gods." They liked that name.

Chalice did as he had been called forth to do. It was easy, the dragons who opposed him changed their minds when he spoke. He found it was easier when he sang. His musical voice had been gifted the power of a God, stealing the hearts of the Children and making them hear his words.
