Loki hatched in Valhalla. Valhalla was all he had ever known. His mother allowed him to hide underneath her when something startled him. He learned his magic control from her. Essentially, as a pup, Loki as a mother's child. Whereas Thor spent time with their father, Loki spent time with their mother. She showed him many things were possible. When he had learned of his illusion magic, she made sure he could control it. She had been the most precious dragon to him -- at the time. When she had grown older, he had fallen into the darker thoughts in his mind. Who was going to listen to him when he had complaints about Thor? Who was going to save him if he couldn't control a situation? He was losing his mother, and he didn't know how to handle it. Loki took it hard. A lot harder than others thought he would have taken it. He didn't know what to do anymore. He disappeared into Yggdrasil for a very long time.

Freya was the dragon to bring Loki back to Valhalla. He came with her in a quiet walk. She had saved him, and he owed her for the save -- she had saved his life. In different realms, Loki had become known as a god of disaster and tricks. Thor didn't know what to do with him, but he was his brother. Odin had solemnly forgiven due to his state of mind. Therefore, Thor forgave him as well. He kept a closer eye on Loki. He had a Wildclaw that stayed with him. He knew it was Loki's weapon in dragon form. He seemed calm and mild mannered, so Thor did not worry about it. Actually, it seemed Loki fathered the boy. It kept him a little bit more to earth. It was only when Loki met Sigyn that Thor could breathe. He also kept more of a distance between them.

Sigyn keeps Loki attached to their realm -- if only because he loves her more than anything in all the realms. And, she would like to stay in Valhalla.

That is what keeps him within Valhalla.
