Fireglass Clan Founder She/her |
Biography
Fireglass left her birth Clan at a young age, feeling stiffled by their lack of ambition to grow or take the occasional risk. Always an intelligent dragon, Fireglass knew she had good ideas that could help her Clan, but in addition to their reluctance to diverge onto risky paths and try new things, it was a struggle for Fireglass to quite bridge the gap between her logic and that of her Clanmates when explaining these plans. She finally decided that perhaps an entirely new Clan was needed, and headed out to carve out her own chunk of territory.
During this time, she met - or rather, reunited with - a fae dragon named Aydan. Also a member of Fireglass' original tribe, he had left to study magic when the two were quite young. To Fireglass' surprise and intrigue, Aydan was not entirely happy with their birth Clan's stagnation, either, and he agreed to help her for a time.
The two turned out to work quite well together, after some time spent adjusting. Fireglass was at first quite irritated by Aydan's attempts to add unnecessary details to her explanations, but gradually, especially during encounters with other dragons, Fireglass realized his additions were the little leaps in logic she had taken for granted, and that she - or Aydan, who turned out quite able to understand her ideas - could draw on them to help make her points of view make sense to others. *more stuff here once I find out if I saved Aydan's longer description somewhere else*
It was not overly long before Aydan decided to stay for good, and eventually, when they'd claimed a decently-sized territory and felt it was safe, decided the first members of their new Clan should be their children.
Today, Fireglass leads a clan of dragons from many elements, talents, clans, and circumstances. Though she has grown much better at communicating her ideas, she relies on Aydan to assist her in leading the group as well. Fireglass' leadership style tends to be a touch indirect; while her say is certainly final, she tends to simply sneak a claw into any given affair to influence it more favorably, while also allowing each individual dragon to use their own strengths and skills to handle situations as they come up. She is still very much a presence in the Clan, however, and nothing goes on without her knowing - or, more likely, her having something to do with it.
