ARCTURUS

A red giant star found near the middle of the big dipper is where this dragon's name comes from. She represents the transition from day to night, when the land glows orange and red as deep indigos blend in from above. This time of day is when a stillness settles over the rush of daily life. It is the time to take in one's accomplishments and relax in the sound of crickets as long grasses rustle in the breeze.

Arcturus does not fear anything, but she carries her actions with an admirable amount of realistic expectations. She knows if she will succeed or not, and she acts depending on that. Slow and gentle is how she appears, but like the burning sun disappearing into the night sky, she can channel a fiery rage of energy upon her enemies that no one ever sees coming. If you look into her eyes, she will bring up the depths of every choice you've ever made. You cannot escape those feelings that you try to hide; you can see the silent disappointment and her yearning for you to embrace the good. You will be reminded of her, every decision you make from there on out.

With a lantern on her wing to guide her, she spends her time drifting from galaxy to galaxy, constellation to constellation, providing an unsettling yet welcome presence of strength and the undeniable intelligence of a being who has seen millenniums of time float past. She does not speak often, but when she does every soul stops to listen, with some swearing even the very land itself leans in to her words. She does not use fear to rule, and in-fact refuses any permanent positions at all. She instead remains in her state of advisor to all who ask.
