A beautiful statue, covered in dusty cobwebs and sheets of heavy burlap, Galateia was recently unearthed by a sculptor who now works tirelessly to restore the sculpture to her original glory. 		xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx She is beautiful. Half finished and polished to a sheen, the sculptor's patrons marshal around her base in awe. They marvel at her gleaming scales, carved meticulously into her hide. They speak in words she does not know, but she understands regardless. She is beautiful, and she is loved.

The next day, with hurried movements there is a heavy canvas sheet drawn up over her as hurried steps and screams call out from the canyon outside. Her creator whispers to her, soft and shaky, tears falling on her noble hands and sword, brushing their hand along her cheek before they flee and she is left alone.

The attackers don't notice the carefully hidden artists studio- hidden so that something so beautiful may not be demolished by careless and ruinous claws. So she stays, even as the entrance caves in and as the ceiling erodes. As vines begin to creep in and as the canvas falls away, she remains motionless. Beautiful, and alone.
