INFORMATION AND LORE
While Encephs are very powerful, underneath their armoured carapaces they are little different from normal dragons. Eventually they will die, whether from old age, or trauma. Sometimes when this happens, however, they don’t stay dead. No one knows exactly what causes dead Encephs to return to life, but it is often believed to be the result of exposure to high levels of magic. These revived creatures are known as “the Reformed”, they are terrifying beings, cracked armour falling away to reveal flesh, and even bones beneath. Their only focus seems to be death and destruction, as they attack anything in sight, and will not stop until they are destroyed for good. Reformed are almost universally despised by living Encephs, who see them as abominations, though most are not above directing these mindless ghouls towards enemy clans.
