Seth is the Egyptian god of the desert, chaos and violence. He is said to be the evil counterpart to Osiris and Horus. But even he has a positive role when he accompanies Ra in the underworld to prevent him from danger caused by Apopis, a giant snake. He also is a loving husband to his wife Nephthys and stepfather to Anubis. Character: ☥ evil ☥ ☥ scheming ☥ ☥ supportive ☥ ☥ avid for power ☥ Geb, god of the Earth, and his wife Nut, goddess of the sky, had four children: Osiris, Seth, Isis and Nephthys. Both of his sons where told by him to be the future ruler of the living - but since Seth started fights and brought chaos and diseases to the humankind, Geb decided that Osiris will be the only king of the living. Seth was jealous at his brother and tried to kill Osiris to get at his throne. But he failed, again and again, getting more and more embittered. As if this wasn't enough his own wife cheated on him, conceiving a child of Osiris. Denounced and hurt he bring even more chaos to the mankind and gods. Even though Anubis was not his own son, he liked him - as long as he followed the plans of his stepfather. Even when Seth was able to kill Osiris, cut him into peaces and scatter these above egypt, Anubis was standing behind him. Since Osiris was dead and Anubis was his only child, Anubis would be the legal successor to the throne. But Anubis refused the throne to care for his family and so Seth got on the throne. But Seth didn't know that Isis conceived a son of Osiris, Horus, when she and Anubis where able to revitalize him for a few moments. When Seth heard about Horus, who will be the legal successor to his throne, he decided to kill the child. Although he was able to hurt Horus by cutting out his eyes and planting his seed in the boy, Horus survived and with the help of his mother and the great god tribunal he gained the throne of the living world. Seth on the other hand was exiled to the desert, always under the strict control of Isis and her attendants. But he never forgot what Osiris, Isis and Horus had done to him, so he is waiting for his chance to kill Horus and finally get on the throne... |
