Momo

Veilspuns are an existential nightmare. A flick of the wing, a flip of the mane, and your body is no longer your own. What happens when a Veilspun gets megalomaniacal? What happens when they get corrupted by the Shade? What happens when they decide they want what another dragon has? What happens when they decide nothing but the swarm matters? Momo has seen it happen.

Well... 'seen' is a stretch. When she's working, Momo's eyes remain closed. She's learned to navigate by electromagnetic field.

It's a bit hard to work an intricate mane-and-wing dance when your muscles are seizing. It's a bit difficult to mesmerize a hunter who 'sees' by sensing her environment like an electric eel. Try to catch her off guard when she's relaxing? Momo has learned how to flood her eyes with voltage to temporarily blind herself until she can get them shut... and if she knows where the Veilspun are, she'll direct her shockwaves there. Everyone was happy to laugh at the fluffy gaoler whose fur stood on end right up until the seizures started.

She's taught others her tricks. It's a lot easier to teach other lightning primals, especially other gaolers, since they have similar anatomy. Any lightning dragon can learn, though, and Momo is eager to teach. Her methods are extremely brutal, but Momo has seen what unscrupulous Veilspun can do. And, because they come from the Tangled Wood, it is Momo's opinion that all Veilspun are unscrupulous. To hear her tell it, no Veilspun ever cared about the concepts of bodily autonomy or consent.

Rumors of Momo eating her quarry abound, but nothing has ever been confirmed. She's unpleasant, she's excessively violent, she's ugly inside, but the various Gaoler orders all see her as a brutal necessity to deal with Veilspun threats. Nobody in their right mind liked hanging around contract killers besides other contract killers, and that is the kind of company Momo likes to keep. She fits in well around Clan AXQU... although all the Veils keep their distance, for obvious reasons.

Someone once asked Momo, 'Why are you like this?' Her response was simple: "Never again."
