As a child Mortality (Back then known as Morry) suffered an accident that froze his body for centuries. After being thawed out by a fellow Banescale he returned home only to find out his friends and family had all died while he was frozen. The young Banescale cried long and hard, he cried for his parents, for his clan and for the youth he had lost. Renaming himself Mortality he chose to I've life to the fullest like his clan would have wanted. However true to this traumatic experience he has trouble getting close to others. He prefers to work alone, deep in the mines, digging for treasure. He finds joy in talking to the rocks and other minerals he finds. Often giving them names after his former family and friends. After all minerals never die so Mortality will never have to be alone again.

-Almost never sleeps as he fears that if he closes his eyes his friends will be gone when he opens them again
