Woodlust

My sister, Sillimanite found a black journal for her to record her life. Mom decided to give me a journal fo my own. It's a white book with wave like patterns. The opposire colours of my sister's journal. The funny thing is she is the lighter one.

Her bright gorlden scales make her look very beautiful. Like Sunshine(The spirit of beauty) herself. Everyone says she looks so pretty and will become a great example of the clan. Me, however is just her brother. No one really cares for him. Of course my mom(and everyone who are good with kids)cares. But most dragons she me as 'The golden hatchling's brother'.

If we were characters of a historical book, we will be refered to as "Sillimanite and the other one". I'm just the bland rock really. My family is known to be one of the brightest dragons in the clan. While i'm here with such dull colouring. Some dragon talk to me but only because they pity me. No one like to talk to me cause i'm to "boring and dumb"

My sister is surprizingly smart for a hatchling. For some reason they aspect me to be just as smart. Most dragons are as smart as I am when they were my age. They praise her for knowing how to solve patterns and riddles very fast. Mindless stuff in my opinion.

Orca(the leader before Furinto) says that i'm strong. He say that he envy's my strenght. He was known to be quite weak for a future leader. He would have been the happiest hatchling if he had my strenght at such a young age. I'm as strong as a new apprentice training to be a warrior.

Orca trained to be a gatherer which was the first time for a leader. All the leaders before him were fighters. Atleast Orca was the leader's son, that why he got so much attention. While i'm a nobody. Just Rose's second batch with a father who died on the same day I was born.


My sister is too naive and ignorent for her own safety. She barely knows any of the clan's problem and never cares about it's history. She thinks that the clan is happy and everyone adores here. Yeah she is beautiful or whatever but some of the older dragons thinks she is too spoiled.

They don't really blame our mother but the somewhat younger genaration. Their entire lives they never saw people in a younger genaration and when they finally get the chance they spoil them too much.

One thing she doesn't know is that we aren't mom's only children. She thinks that we are the only hatchlings mom had and the "perfect" ones. Our mom had kids before us. Three of them in fact. The only thing is that they don't share our father.

Apparenly his name was Leaf and mom's first love. Died in The great sibling's war(Another thing Sillimanite doesn't know) Mom missed him so much and knew that she would never find someone has great has him.

All her older kids are lost to history. After The Exciled attack us we never saw them again. I know most of this by going to the library. It tells everything about the history of the clans. If your Lucky you can be apart of one of the history books. (Or even have a entire story dedicated to you)


After so long i'm finally an apprentice. I chose to do battling. It was what I good at and defending the border is quite necessary. Gathering is just a way too boring subject and hunting will but an extra weight on me.

The elders recommend to do gathering and one other. Doing hunting and battling will be quite harsh. Only doing gathering is seen as having no life(unless you want to become an healer). I understand why they think that cause like why would anyone want to become a full-time gathere even.

I skipped out on gathering cause it was just too boring for me. Its like doing nothing. Silimanite chose to do Gathering and Hunting. She wanted to become the very first animal biologist or something. Not really useful in my opinion but mom thought that was agreat idea.



I have to menotors who help me learn battling. Deep(magic) and Louzin(physical). They both are fairly good at fighting themselves. THey are also both part of a prophecy during their time. My sister probably doesn't know this has she is ignorent.

I went on my first patrol today. It was an evening patrol. Kinda glad it wasn't a dwan patrol cause I hate waking up early. I went with Deep, Shinylight, Juniper, Coconut and Aqui. They were all either fighters or hunters.

Juniper, one of two leaders, Wanted to see how good of a fighter I am. She was impressed that I was good at physical fighting since i'm a Tundra. I'm happy she thought I was strong and a able warior. The clan need fighters more than ever now.

Ever since the Exciled raided the camp they were worried for the future of the clan. If the Exciled ever come back i'll teach them a lesson. They probably won't come back anytime soon as they don't know where the new camp is.

I doubt Sillimanite knows any of these things. She is so dumb and doesn't notice her surrounding. I'll be surprise if she know the Exiled even exist. She really should spend her time talking to the elders. I can't even imagine what she'll be like when she is an elder herself. All the hatchling will probably she her as dumb an boring.
