 F E N D E R   After being captured by raiders, Fender was taken to The Pit. It was there that he would be forced to fight anything else that had been thrown in with him, his wings bound to his body to prevent him from flying off. Any opponents he faced became his only meals, and they were scarce. Between the starvation and the abuse he'd taken from the raiders, he'd become incredibly aggressive. This Phantom-Ender Dragon crossbred had become entertainment in his rage and bloodlust. However, that all changed when Cephore was thrown into the pit with him. Fender was starving and angry. Cephore was pushed into the pit, and Fender's gate had been opened, unleashing his fury on the terrified Crepian. Cephore refused to pick up a weapon, but he ran with Fender on his heels. When they rounded back to the gate again, Cephore slid through just before it closed, backing against the wall as far as he could as Fender barreled through the netted gate and tangled himself in the chains. His teeth were mere inches away from Cephore's face, the chains tangled around his neck, body, and limbs all that kept him from his latest meal. Cephore watched this dragon and- despite his deep-rooted fear of dragons coupled with his hatred for phantoms- sympathized with this dragon. They were scared. They were hungry. They just wanted to go home. He found that the dragon had stopped struggling to reach him and was now struggling to untangle himself to breathe. When the dragon came to rest and stopped struggling, Cephore tried to find a way to untangle the chains, but to no avail- Fender's horns kept them in place. He grabbed a sword and broke the chain links, assuring the dragon that he just wanted to help. When Fender was cut loose, the two teamed together to break out, destroying the outpost and (much to Cephore's disliking) flew home. Tianti was certainly surprised that after Cephore had been missing for two months, he returned home with a dragon that was barely alive. With Tianti being a healer, he recovered from his wounds quickly. He also ate almost their entire meat supply. Fender rarely leaves Cephore's side, often nudging him for attention or playfully nipping at the ends of his coat to play. He's often described as just a giant, scaly dog with wings. After Cephore's rescue, Fender became unshakably loyal, protecting the family with everything he has. His greatest weaknesses, however, is his fear of thunderstorms. Known to run and hide for days or weeks during a storm, but he always comes back. It is because of this, though, that Cephore has opted to sleeping in the stables with him to keep him company during any storms. Thunder and lightning or not.
