Requiem ↠ malicious phantom ________________________________ “Envy: Instead of focusing on your own goals, your goal becomes throwing off the rails other people’s goals and at the end of the day you gain nothing but a mischievous satisfaction that you have destroyed someone’s dream”
---
"This is a joke. A "It's a joke that you agreed to, dear." Requiem shifted in its seat, a dusty old pillow with frayed stitching and knotted tassels. Requiem itself looked like it has been gathering dust for quite a while now, too. The outside was dim-- whether from nightfall or a closed entrance was irrelevant, but it made the measly glow of the candles inside the den the only light source. A fickle light source that threw Requiem's harshities into shadow. Perhaps there were connections to be made there. "You said you'd bring her back alive! In the form right before her death! Not... whatever this is." The 'this' in question was the almost-carcass of something unrecognizable, where the only sign of life was the steady rise and fall of its side. "You're kidding me, right? You're pulling my leg. I get it, I get it. You're just teaching me some moral manure about the beasts having feelings too, or something as stupid." "Oh, no, the beasts most definitely don't have feelings. They do, however, have life. This life was what she had before, well, I think you know just as well what you did," was the reply, soft velvet. "You... you scoundrel! Lowest of the low! You think it's funny, eh? Oh, I bet you find it real humorous making fun of me." The figure opposite Requiem, once shaking in despair, was now animated in rage. Rage took the form of action, and it lunged across the table on which laid the beast. It could not come to realize that what became of "her" was self-inflicted, and in this case, the only one left to blame was the being who brought "her" back in this form. It also could not come to realize that Requiem, as tangible as it seemed, was just as untouchable as the fleeting image of "her." In fact, the only thing to be realized was the glint of the blade at Requiem's side, now no longer gathering dust. by coincidence
