Pitch

Pitch was once ordinary. In his childhood he had a brush with Darkness and ever since desired to bring into the light this terrible dark, the chill fear that haunted his childhood. He became first a detective and then a guard against the fears of the night. But, the dark found a home in him as well. While hunting for a group of cultists he accidentally triggered a trap spell. Pitch knew how to reverse the spell, knew how to use the forbidden magics to un-trigger the trap and flee before he was caught. He did so but this opened his mind up to the very same corruption he fought so hard against. He became infected by the very same shadows he sought to burn in the light.


Pitch still has light within them but now finds themselves fighting against darker urges. The shadows within feed off fear. They have learned to love the taste, needs the fear of others in order to sustain themselves. They remembers a life before him, when it was but a dark hunger for all the terrors of the night. A pure thing corrupted by the mind of a mortal.
