Chaos

"One of the founders of this clan's large Shadewalker population is Chaos, a nest and nursery caretaker, who blessed eggs and taught hatchlings the path of the Shade, creating the basis for the current egg-blessing system here. The old method including blessing every egg where there was an opportunity. Not all resulting hatchlings would show signs of dark magic, when tested by introducing a large passive source of Shade, because they were not eggs born of two Shadewalkers.

Chaos herself is a clever and caring individual, and is especially well practiced at caring for and teaching hatchlings. Because she is one of the eldest members, she is considered a leader figure but doesn't do much in the way of leading, rather, she gives suggestions when asked for help and blesses and partially takes care of the hatchlings in the group. Three of her children are Shadewalkers: Achlys, her firstborn, Erebus, who was a hatchling in her second nest and Tartarus, the youngest, though perhaps most powerful, for various reasons. Each of these children, born to three different non-Shadewalker fathers are successful and respected individuals thanks to their mother's teachings, so one must not take Chaos' suggestions and contributions lightly."
