Costin was a loner most, if not, all his life. He doesn't remember his past, his parents, his friends, or even his own name. He had been wandering for a while until he stumbled upon another dragon.
"Who are you.."
"Who are you?"
Costin looked up at the dragon before him. As his eyes adjusted to the barely lit undergrowth the two dragons stood, he noticed the new dragon was a Tundra. Perhaps male, at least according to the sound of their voice. His wings were a deep purple, as black and white covered the rest of him. The only noticeable thing about him was the small spots of gold on him.
"Don't you know where you are?"
"Where..I am?"
Costin felt more uneasy as the Tundra sat and continued.
"This is the Shadowbinder's territory. The Driftwood drag, to be frank. What's a Spiral doing here?"
"I-I think I might be lost.."
Costin wasn't sure if that was a good thing to tell the first dragon he comes across. He had a faint memory of someone talking to him about survival. Or yelling to him about it. But if this dragon wanted to kill him, he'd probably done so already.
"Shadow."
"What?"
"You asked me who I was. My name is Shadow. What is yours?"
Costin panicked slightly. This strange dragon asked for a name he did not remember. He blurted the first thing to come to his head.
"Costin! My name is..Costin."
Shadow looked at him intently. Costin tilted his head as he waited for the Tundra to speak.
"You smell like a friend. I'm putting together a clan, one where dragons from anywhere can go when they have nowhere else. You seem like you'd be a wonderful edition."
Costin let go of a breath that he didn't know he was holding. A new clan? Somewhere he could belong? A place that he could remember this time? Costin wasn't one for ambitions, but he wasn't going to let a opportunity for a home pass him by. Besides, he wonder what Shadow meant by 'smelling like a friend'.
"So, do you wish to join me and others like us?"
"Okay. I'll join you.......Friend."
