Biography

Valhalen, The Burning Sun
Dragon God

Lore Entry: The War of Time
What is to be gained by battle?
Freedom?
Conquest?
Or perhaps, even simply to prove a point.

Valhalen's wrath is boundless, and his Burning Sun eternal. When the day reaches its peak on the Dragons' Earth, the sun burns its hottest- Valhalen's will, given form.

When the dragons were set to the Toil by "Solsara, Eldest", they began with glee- a world to call their own would be theirs at last. But the Toil never ended. Solsara demanded ever finer detail, to where the footfall of dragon would offset a small stone, and ruin countless years of work. In this period, time was abstract and muddied, making mortals' focus muddy and will weak, as per the designs of Solsara. Eventually, the dragons grew weary of their task, and eventually, wrathful. When Star-Toucher emerged from the darkness of void to give them respite, the dragons grew envious of the Gods' relaxed lifestyle. The eldest mages and strongest warriors in what is now known as the Valathein Desert, and cried out in unison against the Gods'- and created their own.

With these gods came Time, and with Time, resolve. The gods were born of the dragons' will, and thus, willing to aid. From their hope sprung forth Tropera, and from their wrath against the gods came Valhalen, who in Solsara's shock seized control of the Sun. With his last grasp for power, Solsara shattered the Sun into three claw-shaped shards. Solsara seized control over one of Sunstones, while Valhalen and Star-Toucher wielded the remaining two. with them, and the aid of the Dragons of Earth, they waged war for millenia. Tropera and Occasan elected to remain neutral, but the union of Star-Toucher and Valhalen was more than enough to combat the Elder Dragon God. After legions were spent, and millenia were toiled, Solsara was finally forced into a corner- the Edge of Reality. There, he was left with two options- to flee to the Astral Sea, where he would certainly be extinguished, or make peace with the Earth's new Gods of Time.

The treaty came as thus- Solsara and his worshipers were to be spared, in exchange for the final Sunstone. The Sunstones were then to be given to Tropera, Valhalen, and Occasan, so that they might divide the day evenly amongst themselves. Star-Toucher agreed with the treaty, as he was much more content on his dominion over the night. However, the Sun-Stones were inequal in form, with the centre of the three being the dominating size. Tropera and Occasan dared not fight Valhalen over the largest of them for fear of both his power and his armies, and so he wields the greatest strength of all the Gods of Time.

Valhalen, being an embodiment of wrath, was not content with the power he had seized, but the other Time Gods were wise, and understood the reason for his anger. So to the present day he still holds great battles and skirmishes across the borders of his territory on the Grand Equatorial Plane, as well as the occasional friendly Gladiatorial match so that the greatest warriors of each faction may face one-on-one in relative safety.
