Biography
Startoucher, Midnight Incarnate
Dragon God
Lore Entry: The Gods of Time
Millenia ago, before history, the Gods of Time were born. The first of these to arise was "The Startoucher, Midnight Incarnate", born of the black void. From the shade of his wings, the creatures of the Earth were at last able to rest from the Toil of the Great Making, and so he was given dominion over midnight and its darkest hours..
The second of these to arise was "Tropera, The Living Dawn", born of the dragons' hope. Upon seeing her face, Startoucher was enamoured by her pure light, and the two of them ruled the rising hours together in peace. Due to her origin being tied to the dragons' existence, she is hailed as an icon god of the dragons' creation, as they saw it in the beauty of her dawn. Tropera was given dominion over the dawn, and the fire of the rising sun, by "Solsara, Eldest".
The third of these to arise was "Valhalen, The Burning Sun", born of the dragons' hatred of the Toil. So it was that the noon hours would be dedicated to war against the Dragon Gods of creation, after dragonkind finally had a taste of night's slumber. Due to his origin being tied to the dragons' existence, he is hailed as an icon god as the resistance to oppression. Valhalen took dominion over the noonday sun by force, so that his followers may see clearly as they fought the Gods.
The fourth of these to arise was "Occasan, Sunset's Grace", born of the dragons' sorrow that war must be waged. She took it upon herself to guide the souls of the fallen to the afterlife, so that they would not return as the aberrant fiends that plague the earth. It was by her comforting embrace that the dragons were able to push on after seeing their beloved fall in the War of Virtue. Occasan was granted dominion over sunset's relief for her noble action in the war by unanimous agreement of all the existing Dragon Gods, new and old.
