Past and Recruitment

Skyglass started her training as an entertainer early in life. Her parents put her into dancing, singing, and acting classes as soon as she was out of the nestling stage. The dragon who owned the studio had been a brilliant performer in her early years, and was looking to make a name for herself training the next generation's brightest stars. It was there that Skyglass met who would become her best friend and partner in crime... Glasswing.

Besides what she was sent there to learn, Skyglass was taught many lessons that her parents - among others - had no idea she was learning. It seemed that the teacher had, among other things, been gifted with getting her own way through various methods. Skyglass and Glasswing paid a lot of attention to how the teacher acted outside of class and around other adults. They discovered the power of flirting, flattery, vague promises, and playing a part so that others would believe what you wanted them to believe and would happily do what you wanted them to do.

Practicing what they had learned on the sly, the two lovely skydancers realized that they could get just about anything they wanted... and most of the time they got away with it cold. Skyglass was happy to keep her scores small and just use her abilities to get through life on the easiest path... but Glasswing was more ambitious and talked her friend into going along with StarBlind's con. It would be an amazing challenge for their abilities and might even take them places they'd never been before.

So with only a little hesitation, Skyglass looked forward to finding out how far they could take things when they really tried. And, really, the mark had it coming to him after all.

The Con
|| Part One || Part Two || Part Three || Part Four ||
|| Part Five || Part Six || Part Seven ||

It was good to be back in her element. Skyglass twirled through the opening steps of the dance with something like relief. After a couple of weeks in a character that was stuffy, boring, and required a lot of memorization, dancing was a balm. It HAD been fun, though...

While Glasswing had been flirting her way into Moon's confidences, Skyglass had either studied with miners to learn what she needed to know or followed her friend as backup in case something went wrong. When the other dancer had brought their mark in, Skyglass was ready to jump into her role in this charade.

"and this process will strip away the now-empty layers of rock to get to deeper sections that you can begin to mine again. The only problem is it will require massive explosions and flooding to get the dead rock out. According to our survey, the detritus and water will wipe out the lower third of the valley, taking out all lairs in the area."

The practice had made her delivery polished. All during the inspection tour of the various mines, Moon had probably thought he was being a cool customer, but the two skydancers could see his nervousness and his greed at the idea of getting more out of the nearly played out properties. It wasn't surprising that he had jumped on their suggestions, even if those techniques would be wiping out the livelihood of others.

Skyglass had several meetings more with various members of the family. Luckily the greed was universal and her services had been contracted and a date set for the demolitions to begin. Money was handed over to obtain the materials needed, which had then been used to fund other parts of the operation. No notice was given to the workers that they needed to move... at least not by the family. But recordings of the meetings had been given to various leaders of the worker groups and had brought them into the Con...

Remembering how eager the workers had been to embrace the plan of revenge and karma, Skyglass had to stifle a grin. It was clearly obvious now, with the sheer gusto the common people were throwing into their roles as a completely disorderly mob bent on destruction, that the first family of the area had definitely overestimated the loyalty of their peons. It really was so good to see the meek inherit the earth... or at least this part of it.

Determined to make sure the little people got to keep their newly invaded territory, Skyglass slipped off the stage to finish her bit in this little revolution.

The Future
|| Part One || Part Two || Part Three || Part Four ||
|| Part Five || Part Six || Part Seven ||

After having been in the meetings with the various families, Skyglass was well acquainted with them. When Nightwitch brought her horde back into the ballroom, Skyglass joined the other skydancer and the heads of the families who were standing by the stage as the officers moved through and arrested those who needed it.

Skyglass and Nightwitch proceeded to rehash everything that they had gone over with the town's leaders before that night. As the chaotic party crashers began to settle in to eating and celebrating, and those under arrest were being taken to separate rooms for holding under guard, the future of the town was being decided.

While the Players knew that not every single detail would be followed, they could definitely hope that at least the general outlook of the area was going to be vastly improved. If the different societal levels could play nice with each other, the changes could be good for everyone. Skyglass knew that it would happen, she just didn't know how far it would go and how fast.

When her input was no longer needed, Skyglass looked around the calming room with a slightly wistful expression. Grifting before had been a game... this had been revolution. The good they had done here was amazing, and she found herself wanting to accomplish more.

With a smile, Skyglass went to go find her sisters in crime. If she was any good at persuasion, it was time to find out. Maybe she could talk herself into a new family.
