B I O G R A P H Y

No matter what dragon wanders through the doors of the inn, Raina will always be there with a warm drink and a story to tell. She's always loved stories ever since she was a hatchling, so as she grew she made sure she had many adventures to ensure she always has a story to tell any new dragons she meets.

For example, she is a terrific sorceress able to cast spells which will boggle the mind and create potions with unbelievable effects! Or the time she got stuck in a whirlpool in the middle of the Sea of A Thousand Currents and was only able to make it out due to a broken paddle and a piece of string! But those are all stories for another day.

Today's tale, will explain how she came to be a permanent fixture in the Black Frost Inn. It might not be quite as thrilling as some of her other stories, but it's an important one to Raina. It might even be her favourite story to tell (next to the tale of how she found her adopted son, GrayCloud).

Our story begins in an unexpected place, The Ashfall Waste. Raina was gathering some crimson root vines and siltvines for a client, when she came across a couple of Wildclaws. Now, being a very friendly dragon, Raina tends to introduce herself to every dragon she comes across in the hopes of making a new friend, so she was very excited to encounter 2 new dragons at once, because that meant 2 new possible friends!

She excitedly introduced herself to the 2 and asked them who they were and what they were doing in The Ashfall Waste? They introduced themselves as Arlo and Daelin. They explained that they were looking for a special flower that Daelin had seen in her visions which would help them heal a friend of theirs. Raina travelled a lot, so she asked them to describe this flower to her. Raina immediately knew of the flower they were speaking of, Speckled Fire Lilys grew very close to magma vents and were incredibly difficult to harvest, but Raina knew she could help!

They set off for the nearest magma vents to see if they could find the illusive flower and were very lucky to find a whole batch! But, unfortunately they were at the bottom of a very deep chasm. The three of them carefully made their way to the flowers and started picking them when the ground started to rumble. Smoke started to fill the air as magma began pouring into the chasm! Thankfully Daelin and Arlo could fly off quickly, but mirrors wings are not meant for long flights, so Raina quickly turned and ran as fast as she could out of the chasm. It felt like she ran for hours until she was finally above ground and safe from the magma, but she had lost her new friends unfortunately!

Rainacouldn't explain why, but she knew it was important that she find her new friends soon! They said they needed those flowers to save a sick friend, but how did Raina know that they hadn't dropped them all on the way out? Or that they got stuck in a rockfall and were in desperate need of help? Raina couldn't take that chance! Where did they say they were from? The Southern Ice Fields? There was no time to lose! Raina quickly set off to try and find her new friends!

She ran for what felt like days, asking every dragon she knew for directions, before finally she had arrived at her destination, The Black Frost Inn. She quickly made her way inside and instantly found her new friends! They were very surprised to see her! How had she found them with minimal information and in a very short amount of time? Some would say magic, Raina would say determination (and a little bit of magic, but shhh).

They asked her what she was doing there and she explained that she'd been so worried that she had to follow them to make sure everyone was ok! The two of them were touched, but then the two of them began laughing. "What's so funny?" Raina demanded. They explained that before the magma had started pouring in Raina had shoved her entire basket at the two of them before she took off running, she had already given them all of the flowers they could ever need!

Raina was slightly embarrassed, but very glad that the flower had been delivered in a timely manner. The two of them asked if she would like to meet Frostbite, the dragon she had helped save and the owner of the Black Frost Inn. Like I said earlier, Raina does love making new friends! Frostbite was still on bed rest when she met him, so she told him stories to keep him entertained, what she wasn't expecting was for him to also tell her a lot of exciting stories! He explained that working in the inn meant that he had seen, heard and experienced lots of interesting things! Raina liked interesting things! She wanted to also experience these things! And the rest, as they say, is history.
