Saldris leafed through the pages of her leather bound notebook. She murmured, "Very well, so far there has been an indicator that the crystal resists the effects of my earth magic. I have noted that it takes me longer to change the crystal's shape compared to the Crystalweavers, especially those born with Arcane magic." She plucked a quill from its ink well on her crystal desk and scrawled her latest observations into her notebook. There was a gentle cough from the entrance to her hollow. Saldris looked up and saw Rosea'Crystallus. "Oh! Rosea, it is good to see you!" Rosea'Crystallus was a large pink Imperial that worked as a Crystalweaver. She ducked under the arch of crystal and approached Saldris' desk. Her voice was gentle and warm, "My apologies for not coming sooner. This is the best opportunity I had. How have you been settling in Saldris? Are you doing ok, considering things?" Saldris swallowed and her writing forepaw stopped moving. Her heart began to pound in her throat as the memories began to flood back into the front of her mind. "I..." Rosea'Crystallus' brow furrowed and she leaned closer to study Saldris. "You poor thing, I'm sorry. That was completely insensitive." Saldris shook her head to the negative. "No, no! This was no fault of yours. I... I admit I am struggling to... reign in my emotions when it comes to that. But other than that I'm doing great! Oh you should've seen that fracture the crystals made in the stone I summoned yesterday! It was amazing!" Rosea'Crystallus smiled. "So your studies are coming along well I take it?" Saldris nodded to the positive. "Oh yes! I'm loving it here! The other Astronomers are so encouraging and they even help me conduct my experiments. Maple has also been an incredible boon to my research too!" Rosea'Crystallus chuckled. "I'm glad to hear it. Oh listen, the others plan on getting together to share a meal. Do you want to join us?" Saldris smiled. "I'd love to! Are we gathering at sunset?" "Yes, that was the best time that worked for Valygar and Lancelot." Saldris tilted her head toward her right shoulder. "How is Lancelot doing? I remember he suffered a terrible fall when he first passed into the territory when we arrived." Rosea'Crystallus blinked. "You do realize what he is, right?" Saldris frowned. "Um... he's an Imperial?" Rosea'Crystallus rubbed her forepaws together. She was silent for a few moments as she contemplated her answer. "Well... You're not wrong about that... But would you say Lancelot... smells good?" Saldris burst into a fit of laughter. "Oh Gods no! He reeks!" Then it struck her. Saldris froze and settled back onto her haunches. Her eyes refused to blink as she stared at Rosea'Crystallus. "Lancelot is an Emperor? But... but... how is that possible? He doesn't look like Luminax at all!" Rosea'Crystallus shook her head. "The running theory is that his appearance is due to the nature of his death. He died fighting alongside many Imperials and other breeds. Perhaps the fusion of all of those souls had something to do with it? I haven't had an opportunity to ask any of the Angels of Rebirth to look him over but maybe one of the other Astronomers is willing to look into it. What I do know is that Lancelot can not get too close to Titan's Rest. He starts to become violently ill and weak, screaming incomprehensibly. Oh it is a horrible sight and my heart weeps for him." Rosea'Crystallus slapped her tail onto the crystal floor. "Nonetheless! This is supposed to be a happy occasion! We'll all meet up and share a meal to enjoy each other's company. I'm looking forward to it." Saldris shared her friend's sentiment. What happened to Lancelot was so long ago that he must've always been an Emperor ever since she was hatched. She couldn't let that new piece of information affect how she treated him. That wouldn't benefit any one. So Saldris smiled and nodded. "I'm looking forward to it too! See you later!" | . |

The Titan Age Saldris was not hatched in this bygone era. The Pantheon Age Saldris was hatched near the end of this age in the Earth Flight territory of Dragonhome. Her father, Azymondias was the leader of her birth clan at the time however he often traveled far away without confiding in anyone other than his seer. Saldris' youth was more or less peaceful and spent most of it playing with the other hatchlings. As she grew, she learned of the discontent that the adults of the clan felt in regard to her father's performance as their leader. At first quick to defend her father in his absence, Saldris soon found herself also being treated more distantly by the others. This pushed her to spend more time with others that were like her, such as Rosea'Crystallus and the other survivors of a clan once known as Clan Crystal Rose. Sad with the turn of events, Saldris could only watch on as her birth clan descended into dark times. The New Age The Bounty of the Elements that marked this transition of the ages did not spare Saldris' birth clan from its chaos. Her father never returned to the clan, whether that was by his own design or not would never be known to Saldris. She lost all contact with him, as if forbidden by some unseen force. In need of a leader, the clan elected the Skydancer Kastira. This move was yet another nail in the coffin for Saldris' time in her birth clan. Kastira was very loyal to the clan but held no love for Rosea'Crystallus and the others from Clan Crystal Rose. By association, Saldris was also lumped in with them and treated as if an outsider. Which wasn't anything new, however it preceded the final nail in the coffin. Decades after the Bounty of the Elements passed when the clan sent their diggers to aid the excavation team at the Dustcarve Dig. When they returned, they brought back a new dragon species called an Obelisk. Which unleashed a terrible plague upon the clan. Due to her proximity to Rosea'Crystallus and lack of contact with the majority of the clan, Saldris was spared from contracting the plague. Those that contracted the disease, who did not perish from it, lost all memory of their past and thus lost all memory of who Saldris and the others were. Saldris was forced to leave the clan. Scared of what the future held, Saldris remained with Rosea'Crystallus and the others that were driven out. Together they traveled to the lands of the Arcanist in search of Rosea'Crystallus' birth clan. It was difficult but when she finally clapped eyes on that stunning floating island Saldris knew that she finally found a home. She recalls fondly how peaceful and relieved her heart felt when she followed her companions under the crackling magic rivers that arced from the crystalline mountain peaks toward the pinnacle of the central crystal spire located in the inland sea. Saldris found a career that she could be proud of in Sanguinem Luna Clan. She works now as an astronomer, studying how her Earth magic reacts to the plentiful supply of Arcane magic. She still maintains her friendship with Rosea'Crystallus and the others. However she is not ready to speak of her birth clan yet. For her, the pain of what happened is still too near. 
Maple the Autumn Dryad Maple is Saldris' familiar. Maple came to be in Saldris' company when the Spiral arrived at the territory of Sanguinem Luna Clan. Saldris had been out performing an experiment that caught the Dryad's interest in the Forest of Whispers. After some time discussing her experiments, Maple couldn't resist wanting to get involved. So this friendly Dryad works with Saldris as a research assistant. In exchange, Saldris will help Maple with assisting the local fauna when they prepare for winter.  Customization Goals |
