Biography
“A sword that cannot be used by anyone is the same as not even existing in this world. Am I wrong?”
Name: 太郎太刀 [Taroutachi]
Type: 大太刀 [Oodachi]
History
Because of his exceptionally large size, no human being could effectively wield Taroutachi–except one. Makara Naotaka was a general of the Asakura Clan during the Sengoku period (mid-late 1500s). In 1570, during the Battle of Anegawa, Makara lost Taroutachi and was killed in battle. Taroutachi was since dedicated to the gods, and is now preserved at Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya.
Personality: Taroutachi is quite serious but has an edge of irony about him that seems to suggest he considers some earthly matters (including his own existence on earth) quite trivial to him. He is rather aloof concerning the events that happen on earth, yet he will not hesitate to carry out a mission seriously and effectively if he is called to do so. Taroutachi is by no means outwardly egoistical, but he has an underlying air of arrogance (given his underestimation of anything from earth) that perhaps comes with the territory of being a sword given to the gods. However, he was deeply impressed with the samurai who was able to wield him centuries ago, and quietly wonders if someday another human could possibly do the same. On another note, Taroutachi is quite mindful of his size and is often concerned if it will inconvenience others.
